The short version

Couchfall has no accounts and doesn’t collect your viewing. The app connects your device directly to your own media server. Your films, your watch history and your sign-ins stay between your devices and your server.

What stays on your device

The servers you add, the sign-in each one gave you, your profiles and your settings are saved in your browser (or in the TV app) on that device. Clearing your browser’s data for couchfall.com removes them. Some settings and profiles are also saved on your own media server, so your other devices can use them.

couchfall.com sets one small cookie, couchfall_site, holding only “www” or “home” — which of our two addresses your servers were added on — so we can open the right one. It contains nothing about you or your servers.

What goes to your media server

Everything you do in Couchfall — browsing, playing, your progress — is between the app and your own Emby, Jellyfin or Plex server, under that server’s own privacy terms. We never receive it.

Signing in with Emby Connect or Plex

If you sign in with Emby Connect, your sign-in passes through couchfall.com on its way to Emby’s service, because Emby’s service doesn’t accept requests from websites directly. We pass it along and don’t store it. When you sign in with Plex, that happens on Plex’s own site (plex.tv), and we only receive what Plex sends back to your device.

Hosting

couchfall.com is hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site. We may use Cloudflare’s cookie-free visitor counts to see how many people visit; they don’t identify you or follow you to other sites.

The demo

The demo’s films stream from Mux’s public test service (test-streams.mux.dev), which sees the usual technical details of any video request. Your demo progress and My List are saved only in your browser.

Children

Couchfall isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone.
